Susan specialises in helping children reach their full potential, including assisting them to overcome learning disabilities like dyslexia and dyscalculia.
In 1986 and 1987, she obtained a BA Honors in Psychology and a BD degree from the University of Pretoria (UP), setting the stage for her 30+ year career in practical research. She is the mind behind conceptualising the Edublox tools and learning methods.
Early in her professional journey, Susan played a pivotal role in training over 3,000 teachers and tutors, equipping them with the foundational knowledge and practical techniques to foster cognitive development among children struggling with reading and writing.
In 2007, she established the first Edublox reading and learning clinic, a milestone that has since expanded to include 30+ clinics across Southern Africa. The Edublox tools she contributed to developing are now utilised online by students worldwide, spanning regions like the United States of America, Europe, Australia, and the United Arab Emirates.
Susan maintains an active blog focused on learning disabilities. She has authored numerous articles, conducted workshops, and delivered presentations in countries such as Spain, Singapore, Dubai, the United Kingdom, New Zealand, and South Africa.
Susan’s passion lies in ensuring that every child has the opportunity to reach their educational potential. She firmly believes that dyslexia and other learning disabilities can be overcome through proper cognitive development and training. One of her greatest sources of pride is witnessing the transformation of children with severe learning difficulties into top performers after just a year or two at Edublox. She makes it a point to collect the success stories of Edublox students, whose self-esteem soars as their academic achievements improve, often by as much as 30%.
