He Smiles Daily. He Laughs Often. He Is a New Child

Kenna, USA: In Algebra he learns a new concept daily on his own and does his assignment on his own in a very timely manner. He rarely makes a mistake. His writing and spelling has also improved greatly... People ask me if I will put him back on medication when he goes back to public school and I can happily say “No, he does not need it.” John now speaks very fluently. He smiles daily. He laughs often. He is a new child. Audiblox has given him a life.

USA flagJohn’s progress with Audiblox:

I started realizing John had a learning problem when he was in first grade. He could never get his work done in class so he always had to miss recess. He never caused any trouble, he didn’t fidget or wiggle around, and he hardly ever said a word. He maybe got to go out to recess with the other kids two or three times a month. This made him sad and he started to hate school. His reading was very poor and his spelling was terrible. At home I could never tell him to do more than one thing at a time.

Sometimes I would tell him to go brush his teeth and a few minutes later I would go check on him and he would just be standing in the bathroom. I would ask him what he was supposed to be doing and he couldn’t remember. I usually had to physically follow him around to make sure he did what he needed to do.

By the end of second grade John was still on a Kindergarten reading level, and still struggled with everything in school. At the beginning of third grade the school tested him and decided he had a processing disorder and gave him help with an inclusion specialist. He made some progress in third grade but not much. His spelling was still very poor. His reading was way below grade level and he still couldn’t complete an assignment on time.

Fourth grade was a disaster.

I started home schooling him in the 5th grade. We had him diagnosed with ADD and put him on Adderall. It helped a lot but I only had a 2 hour window to get all the schooling done because then the medication would wear off and then we couldn’t continue. Without Adderall, he would sit and stare at his math book for 2 hours and maybe complete 2-3 problems. He always said “I can’t think.” We did this for 2 1/2 years with very little progress. Throughout all these years John spoke very little. When he did speak he would halt between words. He could not speak smoothly and therefore it was very hard to listen to him. He would usually only answer yes and no questions. I never heard him laugh and he very seldom smiled. He pretty much kept to himself.

I started hating to give him medication for him to be able to think. Then I found Audiblox. This has been a lifesaver. We started one year ago. John has been off Adderall for one year. He reads very fluently and I’m supposing on grade level although I have not had him tested. He can read all the word cards correctly as fast as I can throw them down and he can read all the word lists foreward, backward, up and down at great speed with no errors. He struggled with arrows in the beginning but he can now do Arrows 3 at great speed 100% correct. He started out being able to do 15 blocks in sequencing and can now do 70 blocks in a 5 day period at 5/5/0. He started out at 7 blocks with patterns and now can do 48 in a five day period at 10 min. a day. He is working on 16 blocks in auditory and usually only misses 2 or 3 blocks. Overall he is doing very well in Audiblox. In Algebra he learns a new concept daily on his own and does his assignment on his own in a very timely manner. He rarely makes a mistake. His writing and spelling has also improved greatly. He wants to go to High School next year and I am confident that he will do well. People ask me if I will put him back on medication when he goes back to public school and I can happily say “No, he does not need it.” John now speaks very fluently. He smiles daily. He laughs often. He is a new child. Audiblox has given him a life.
